Peran Komunikasi Islam dalam Diplomasi Keamanan: Studi Kasus Dalam Upaya Perlindungan Terhadap Palestina

Abstract

This study examines the role of Islamic communication in security diplomacy with a particular focus on efforts to protect Palestine. Islamic communication is understood not only as a religious instrument but also as a normative framework that fosters transnational solidarity among Muslims. Employing the concepts of Islamic Communication and Security Diplomacy and using a qualitative research method, the findings reveal that Islamic communication serves as a moral legitimacy that strengthens the diplomatic position of Muslim-majority states in international forums while simultaneously shaping global public opinion pressure. However, its effectiveness faces challenges such as political fragmentation within the Islamic world, negative framing by Western media, and structural constraints of the international system, particularly the dominance of the UN Security Council. Nevertheless, the study concludes that Islamic communication retains strategic potential to reinforce global solidarity for Palestine, especially if it is managed in an integrated manner through state diplomacy, international Islamic organizations, transnational media, and civil society movements.
